BICYCLES, SCOOTERS & OTHER WHEELED DEVICES
Bicycles
Most Commuter Express buses are fitted with racks. Please call (213, 310, 323, 818) 808-2273 for more information.
Just pay your regular fare and you can load your bicycle in the rack on the front of the bus for free. All the bike racks have simple instructions posted on them. The bicycle racks are designed to hold each bicycle separately in place by a spring-loaded clamp. Bicycles won’t rub, touch, or scratch other bicycles, the bus, or other vehicles. For more information about bicycling in LA, visit our Bikes on Buses page on this site or visit the LADOT Livable Streets website.
SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS & OTHER WHEELED RIDING DEVICES
Electrically-powered scooters, skateboards and other wheeled riding devices MAY be carried on the bus PROVIDED that they can be kept in a location that will not interfere with the safe operation of the bus or where they do not block the aisle or doors.
Fuel-powered wheeled riding devices are NOT ALLOWED on board the bus at any time.
If a customer attempts to board the bus with a device that is in violation of this policy, the driver must politely inform the customer of the policy. If customer persists and refuses to abide by the policy, the driver must continue in service but advise Dispatch of the issue so that a Supervisor or LAPD can meet the bus to handle the situation.
